Therapeutic Massage
Therapeutic Massage for Pain, Tension and Wellbeing
Therapeutic massage can help reduce pain, improve movement, ease tension and support overall wellbeing.
My approach combines therapeutic massage, deep tissue massage, myofascial release and lymphatic techniques to create treatments tailored to each person's individual needs. Rather than following a standard routine, I select the most appropriate combination of techniques to support your body, circumstances and treatment goals.
Treatment may be helpful for:
Neck, shoulder and back pain
Muscular tension and stiffness
Stress, anxiety and fatigue
Restricted movement and mobility
Recovery from injury
Swelling and fluid retention
General wellbeing and relaxation
My foundation training was undertaken at the internationally recognised Clare Maxwell-Hudson School in London and has since been developed through further training in deep tissue massage, myofascial release, lymphatic techniques, scar therapy and menopause support.
Therapeutic Techniques
Depending on your needs, treatment may incorporate:
Deep Tissue Massage
To relieve muscular pain, tension and restriction, improve movement, and address areas of chronic tightness. This treatment uses slower, more focused techniques to release deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue, helping to restore function and ease persistent discomfort.
Myofascial Release
To release tension within the fascia, improve mobility, flexibility and comfort. Using sustained, gentle pressure, this technique helps reduce restrictions within the connective tissue, supporting freer movement, improved posture and reduced pain.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a gentle yet highly effective massage technique that encourages the natural flow of lymphatic fluid. It helps to reduce swelling, support healing and recovery, and promote deep relaxation. It is particularly beneficial following surgery and for people experiencing fluid retention or heavy, tired legs.
Where appropriate, Therapeutic Massage may be combined with LymphaTouch® technology to support tissue mobility, lymphatic flow and recovery following injury, surgery or periods of physical change.
Menopause & Surgical Menopause Support
Having experienced surgical menopause myself, I have a particular interest in supporting women navigating menopause and surgical menopause.
Treatment may incorporate therapeutic massage, reflexology and other supportive approaches to help manage stress, fatigue, sleep disturbance, muscular tension and the physical effects of transition.
Reflexology
Reflexology is available as a stand-alone treatment or may be incorporated into menopause support sessions where appropriate.
Appointment Length
Therapeutic Massage appointments are available as both 60-minute and 90-minute sessions, depending on your needs and treatment goals.
